Knowledge Cutoff

The date after which an AI model has no training data — it genuinely doesn't know about anything that happened after this point unless it's given that information directly (e.g. via search or an uploaded document).

This is why an AI might confidently give an outdated answer about recent events — it's not lying, it simply has no information past its cutoff.
